The usenet-extensions@landfield.com mailing list has been created to support discussions that are not going to be an immediate part of the ongoing RFC work of the Usenet Article Standard Update (UseFor) Working Group. It is important discussions about improving the quality of life on Usenet occur and are not lost. The usenet-extensions list is intended to serve as a place where these discussions can happen.

Archive: http://www.landfield.com/usefor/The purpose of this mailing list is to provide a forum for topics that cannot be readily addressed on the Usenet Article Standard Update Working Group Mailing list. There is a good deal wrong with Usenet that can be corrected with the appropriate care and feeding. These issues are however extensions to what the working group is trying to achieve with the immediate work on the successor to RFC 1036.
The usenet-extensions list focus is on the future evolution of Usenet as opposed to geting out the son-of-rfc1036.
Usenet-Extensions Archive Access:
In an effort to make the archive faster to download, it has been split into separate hypermail archives by month. The list was created in May, 2001.The list messages are also available in Unix mailbox format. Each file represents a single month's traffic.
